După un sezon extrem de neconvențional, premiile Emmy au avut loc duminică. Cea de-a 72-a ediție a Premiilor Emmy a fost o noapte cu numeroase surprize.
Watchmen a primit mai multe statuete Emmy decât orice altă emisiune din 2020, HBO obținând cele mai multe victorii ale oricărei rețele sau serviciu de streaming.

Watchmen a câștigat 11 Emmy în total, inclusiv pentru cea mai bună serie limitată și cea mai bună actriță în rol principal dintr-o serie limitată pentru starul Regina King. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II a câștigat, de asemenea, pentru cel mai bun actor în rol secundar într-o dramă pentru interpretarea lui în serial. Cele 11 statuete ale serialului au ajutat HBO să câștige 30 de Emmy-uri în total, inclusiv 19 statuete în timpul Creative Arts Emmy, care s-au desfășurat în cursul săptămânii trecute.
